The Boring Basics

Cut out jabs and shot fakes to start

On a kickout, just start pounding: shoot or swing it.

And if, when you swing it, that guy doesn’t drive it, more often than not, he’s going to drive away to start, then you can cut.

But if he drives it, you got to be ready to relocate.

And then also stop allowing them to make any type of jab or shot fake moves.

Cut that out ASAP, immediately.

Then you can layer that back in once they just understand the principles of space and time. But any jab moves, any “bag work,” all that, it’s only gonna hurt you guys.

It’s only gonna hurt the team.

Then you can layer that stuff in, after your principles or your foundation.

Then you can layer in your skill.

Then you can layer in your plays and all that, the game model, however you wanna do it. But until you get these principles of time and space down, you’re not going to be able to optimize any other stuff.
