You’ve got to teach the awareness, right?

It doesn’t just happen just because you tell a player: we need to do it..
That’s just not how it works.
We talk about this a lot with our players: what’s just as important as executing a skill is called inhibiting a skill (to stop, to not do it).
Right here, Morris is going up to execute a shot right but just as important as the ability to make this shot is he’s got to be able to inhibit this shot and see “okay, actually I have a better opportunity somewhere else, boom, I find Batum.”
And that’s these that we put guys in the summer or the offseason. A lot of these situations, boom, get there. OK, elevate. You should be able ti see at the last second.
You should always be scanning the whole floor.
